Purnell Choppin accepted the Distinguished Medical Science Award from FNLM VP Joseph Perpich. Ann Duesing was the winner of the Michael E. DeBakey Library Services Outreach Award. FNLM President Francis Bonner presented neurosurgeon Michael Lemole with a Congressional Citation for his services to Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords

Dr. Mehmet Oz, co-recipient with Dr. Roizen of the Paul Rogers Health Communications Award, attended the event with his wife Lisa. The Library of Congress Jefferson Building's Great Hall provided a beautiful setting for the event.

Dr. Michael Roizen, co-recipient with Dr. Oz of the Paul Rogers Health Communications Award, was presented the award by FNLM chairman and former colleague Dr. Donald King. The Library of Congress Jeff erson Building's Great Hall provided a beautiful setting for the event.
